styles, colors, woods, laminates, mouldings and hardware, so
your design choices are virtually limitless.
ALDER - Alder is an elegant choice
that delivers the warmth of cherry wood at a lower price. Fine grained
with small knots and moderate grain variation, alder takes to darker
stain beautifully. As a hardwood it is on the softer side, meaning care
must be taken not to dent or damage it. For an even more rustic look you
can chose selected knotty alder, which also warms up in colour over
time.
OAK - Oak's distinct grain patterns and
durability give cabinets a traditional look that will stand up to the rest of
time. Its' ability to absorb stain helps to accent its' familiar bold grain
patterns.
HICKORY - Hickory is a southern hardwood with
unique grain patterns and bold colour variation. This aggressive trademark is at
its' best when finished with a natural clear coat. Stain can be used to mellow
this natural beauty, bringing a bit of uniformity.
MAPLE - Maple is a traditional, timeless
choice that offers durability and strength at an affordable price. Stains can be
used to accent its' subtle grain patterns, making it popular in a variety of
colours. Due to its tight pore structure we use maple in all of our painted
lacquer doors.
CHERRY - In a class of its' own cherry has a
contemporary look that shows you have made an investment in the quality of your
cabinets. Cherry wood is a natural reddish brown colour that will darken over
time with exposure to light. It has characteristics such as pin knots, pitch
pockets and mineral streaks, and takes darker stains quite well.
LYPTUS - Lyptus is a South America hardwood
created from a naturally occurring hybrid of two Eucalyptus species. Lyptus has
a bold straight grain with shades that vary from dark red to light pink. It is
our densest hardwood, making it very durable and has the advantage of taking
dark stains very well. As a fast growing farmed wood, this species is a perfect
choice for people seeking to lessen their environmental impact.
