Maintenance Technician
BC's leading designer and manufacturer of quality cabinetry products for over 40 years, winner of the Best Custom Kitchen Supplier in the Central Okanagan every year since 1999 and a Gold Tommie winner for the past few years, is accepting applications for the position of MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN. Working in our state of the art manufacturing facility in Kelowna, BC, we strive and achieve leading edge craftsmanship in the creation of our award winning cabinetry.
The MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN position will be responsible for the care and maintenance of all Westwood Fine Cabinetry facilities, grounds and equipment.
Qualfications include:
  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
  • Three years experience in the maintenance of building facilities, repair of machinery, plumbing, electrical, wiring and fixtures.
  • Journeyman certificate would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of methods used in maintenance including electrical wiring, standard practices and tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities; safety practices and procedures related to the building trades; basic math.
  • Ability to effectively use a variety of hand and power tools, operate a forklift, read blueprints, review and identify projects needed to be serviced by outside contractors, follow oral and written instruction, communicate effectively in both oral and written form, maintain work logs/maintenance records and prepare reports, establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments.
  • Leadership and scheduling skills to ensure work gets organized and processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability of consistently accurate work under pressure situations and deadlines.

JOB OVERVIEW
Under supervision of the Sales Manager, this position works in the Sales and Marketing department of Westwood Fine Cabinetry providing sales administrative support. Responsibilities include supporting the sales activities of the retail operations by entering sales quotes, reviewing Sales Designers orders, monitoring sales discounts, providing support to customers in the showroom and coordinating shipping, installation and service work. Employees perform their duties in the offices of the Coquitlam Showroom and with the Sales Team in Coquitlam.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyses and interprets sales layout, sketches and instructions.
  • Prepare, proof and verify sales orders quoted from the Sales Designers, including installation.
  • Enter sales quotes into the Westwood Enterprise Solutions (WES) and updates information as changes occur.
  • Monitors sales discounts requested by Sales Designers based on Westwood Fine Cabinetry guidelines.
  • Enters orders into the WES system.
  • Provides customer support in the showroom as required.
  • Recognizes and reports discrepancies between quotes and orders.
  • Coordinating shipments with the Kelowna Team.
  • Coordinates Installation and Service work with Designers, Customers and other Trades.
  • Coordinates countertop templating and installation with Customers.
  • Provides daily cash information to the Finance department.
  • Functions independently, as assigned, or as part of a team in completing orders as necessary.
  • Ensures quality control and environment procedures, and works in a safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as required.
