What the kitchen means to me:

The kitchen is the gathering place for family and friends. Whether it’s a nightly family dinner or a large celebration with friends, everyone gravitates toward the kitchen. Why fight it? Your kitchen should be a place you don’t want to leave. My go-to kitchen style is something open and contemporary.

A little more about Dave:

I was born and raised in Vancouver, but eventually made the move to Kelowna where I now live with my wife. We have two grown boys who are now off on adventures of their own.

I have been in the cabinet industry for twenty-three years, and even owned my own business for eighteen years.

What the kitchen means to me:

The kitchen is the pulse of the home, providing nourishment and sustenance. It is also the place of connection, bringing people together to eat, visit and play. A perfectly designed kitchen brings functionality in a way that reduces chaos in our often chaotic lives. Second to functionality is beauty through design, which captures the essence of the homeowner and projects the tone and how the space is utlized.

A little more about :

Kelowna has been my home base since I was 2 years old.  My husband and I are now raising our son and daughter in this beautiful city.

I began my career in cabinetry in 2003 and have worked in various departments including installation, scheduling, service, finance, quoting and ordering.  I first began working for Westwood in 2007 and have since worked there intermittently while I completed my BA, BSc, and Master's in Urban Planning. My current role at Westwood allows me to utilize both my extensive cabinetry industry experience as well as many aspects of my academic career!

What the kitchen means to me:

The kitchen to me is all about beauty and function. A perfectly designed kitchen is the cornerstone of any home. Every aspect of its design must be taken into consideration. If the kitchen is not functional, all the beauty will be for nothing. A person needs to first determine how the kitchen will flow and make sure there is a logical place for everything they will need day-to-day. Once those critical aspects are determined, then the beautiful elements can be chosen.

A little more about Cheryl:

I have lived in many cities across Western Canada over the years, but am back in Kelowna now to stay. BC has always felt like home, and Kelowna not only offers the lifestyle I want, but is also the place I feel the most comfortable.

I have worked in design and sales for many years in a variety of capacities. I have owned and operated my own businesses for most of my life, including my own kitchen and renovation company for a number of years. I don’t like to cook, but I love to entertain so I understand how important a role the kitchen plays in the home.

Working at Westwood gives me the opportunity to be involved in both the building industry and sales at the same time as well as meet people who share my passion for design.

What the kitchen means to me:

My mother always baked fresh bread and cinnamon buns, so walking into a kitchen, to me, should feel welcoming and represent something wonderful. To me the kitchen will always be a fun place, for cooking and gathering my family for a good time. I like a bright and cheery, organized kitchen, which can be achieved easily with one of the wonderful styles Westwood Elements offers.

A little more about Lila:

I was born in Squamish and lived there for many years. I worked for a Vancouver company designing and selling window treatments. I graduated with “Highest Honors” and received my Diploma for Interior Decorating and Design. I spent 4 years in Fort St. John designing custom kitchens for a Developer, who also owned a custom cabinetry shop. I spent 6 years in Prince George designing custom kitchens. I also experienced working in the flooring industry for part of that time.

I moved to Kelowna and was hired by Westwood in November of 2011 to work on their new venture which at that time was called the Cash and Carry line. This line of products has since evolved into the Westwood Elements collection.  I have always taken great pride in offering this product line to our customers, and making their project fun, rather than overwhelming.

I have three fabulous daughters, one granddaughter and two grandsons, all whom fill my life with great joy (Much like my mother’s bread and cinnamon buns did).
