Title:  Packaging Parts Wrapper

Reports To: Operations Supervisor Assembly

Under supervision of the Assembly Supervisor and with guidance from other Packaging Lead Workers, the Packaging Part Wrapper position is responsible for the effective packaging of work order parts.

Accountabilities:

  • Packaging and labeling of work order parts
  • Completing packaging of work orders on time
  • Accuracy of information

Job Tasks:

  • Identifies proper finished materials
  • Ensures accurate part measurements in metric
  • Reports any discrepancies or problems to lead worker / Supervisors
  • Prepares and cuts packaging materials as per specifications
  • Attaches supplied identification labels onto the package in the designated location
  • Communicates with other part wrappers on shift to maintain work order completeness
  • Maintains materials and workplace in an orderly manner
  • Performs routine cleaning, and maintains orderly workstation, storage areas
  • Ensures quality control and environment procedures and works in a safe manner
  • Safety - Recognizes and addresses or reports any potential/detected safety, deterioration, repair needs and maintenance needs to Supervisor
  • Performs all duties according to operating procedures
  • Performs other duties as requested

Requirements:

  • Experience in a multiple wood products environment an asset
  • Ability to lift work pieces up to 50 lbs. with safe work practices
  • Manual dexterity required for operating packaging equipment
  • Previous experience working as an effective team member in a safety sensitive manner
  • Capability of consistent accurate work under pressure situations and deadlines
  • Established organizational skills to ensure work gets processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, interact well with employees in all departments and have a high degree of attention to detail
  • Able to read and write in English
  • Able to work overtime as required
  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
  • One (1) year minimum experience in a manufacturing environment an asset
