What the kitchen means to me?
The kitchen, for me, is the heart and soul of a home and should be a balance of function and beauty. I cook a lot, so a functional and efficient workspace is important. At the same time, it is where friends and family gather so the space needs to feel warm and inviting. My personal style leans towards the clean lines of Nordic minimalist with accents of natural materials.
My interest in design started back in high school as an art student, which morphed into interior design when I became a homeowner and was frustrated with poor design and inefficient kitchen and bath layouts. With an honours diploma in Business Management from BCIT, I worked in the Human Resources field for over 15 years as my day job but continued to renovate homes in my spare time. After more than 20 years of designing and renovating for fun, I decided to make it my day job and worked at IKEA as a Kitchen Planner and Team Lead. When my husband and I moved to the Okanagan two years ago, I continued with IKEA kitchen designing before I joined the Westwood Elements team in 2022. I’m excited to be a part of the growing Elements line! In my spare time, you will find me spending time with my family, baking and still renovating!
